Carol King sings a song which begins something like, ' When you're down and troubled and need a helping hand, and nothing, no nothing is going right, just call my name and I will be there - you've got a friend. You just call out my name and I'll be there - you've got a friend.'
What a wonderful thought - someone special just to be there whenever we needed them.
Jesus is such a friend and of course He is much more too. But as well as needing to know He is there for us we need to know there are others, human beings who will love us, accept us and care for us too. That is why we have set up these groups. To be a friend to those in need, to comfort those who are down or distressed and to soothe those who are upset; to provide hope.
The Lord is my Shepherd is one of the most
comforting and reassuring statements of faith. We can all take it for ourselves
and apply it to our lives and experience the closeness and constant companionship of a loving Saviour and God.
If you would like to find some new friends too, many of whom have experienced lonliness - come along to one of our groups. Or phone for a chat and let's see if there is anything else we can do for you.
